Billy Joe Wants Out!

Snow Day!!!!
As I was getting all of the new baby stuff ready today, I pulled out some of Aiden's things to compare them to. It will be so weird to have one child in big boy Pull-Ups while the other is in newborn diapers...
This evening I am going to pack a bag for the hospital and then I think/hope I will be completely ready for this little guy to come! According to the ticker at the top of my blog, I still have 25 days before his arrival. Although he can't come early (I have Parent/Teacher conferences next week and the marking period ends the following week so I will have to finalize and post grades) so many people have told me that I look like I have "dropped" in the past few days that I have decided I better be ready to go!

Veggies and Doggie Rides
Aiden loves riding Sparky like a horse. He jumps on his back and commands "Giddy Up!" Sparky bucks him off as quick as he can. The harder Aiden falls the funnier he thinks it is! See for yourself...
Yes, you heard that right. After all that, at the end he says, "I want to do it again!" That's our wild child for you! Many toddlers start getting involved in various activities - we should get Aiden signed up to begin taking Bull Riding lessons!!!! :) :)

Daddy and Aiden
When they were done, they went to visit the fire station Bryan works at. Aiden had fun "driving" the firetruck and dressing up in daddy's gear.

Happy 1/2 Birthday!
Another Aiden funny: Aiden LOVES taking a bath and can keep himself entertained for 45 minutes to an hour - enough time to get a good chunk of housework done. He's to the point where I can leave him in the tub unattended as long as I am in the next room and can still hear him. Every so often I will stick my head in the door and ask him, "Are you still doing okay in there?" Yesterday I was taking a shower when Aiden opened up the door to the bathroom and asked "You doing okay in there Mommy?" "Yes!" I replied with a chuckle. "Okay, just checking" he said as he shut the door and left. He cracks me up!
Yesterday after Aiden and I woke up from our naps (have I mentioned how wonderful it is to be able to take naps on the weekends? :) ) I noticed that it was actually 50 degrees outside - HEATWAVE!!!! So, I took a shovel and shoveled the remaining snow off the deck (okay, so I didn't really shovel it off the deck, I just pushed it to the front - hey I'm 8 1/2 months pregnant what did you expect?) and Aiden and I went outside to play. He had so much fun! He especially enjoyed taking the remaining snow and throwing if off of the deck (along with eating some of it! Sparky has not gone out on the deck all winter so it was safe in that regard). He also had fun going as fast as he possibly could in his car and then slamming right into a pile of snow - he is such a boy. I asked him if he had car insurance and his reply was "Ummm, I don't think so." Thank goodness he's not driving any of our vehicles any time soon!
Even though it was a "balmy" 50 degrees outside, we were still cold when we came in and needed some hot chocolate to warm up!

Bad Cookie Monster!
I'm not sure why, but Aiden loves Cookie Monster during the day but at night has nightmares about him. Aiden thinks he lives in our basement and refuses to be down there by himself - screams and hollers if we run upstairs to get something and tell him we will be right back. Any time he hears a strange noise downstairs he asks with a tremble in his voice "That Cookie Monster?" Even though we always reassure him that Cookie Monster is NOT downstairs and that he is a really nice guy Aiden still freaks out about him at night.
For the past three nights in a row Aiden has finally stayed in his bed all night long (he hasn't slept all night long but at least he stayed in his own bed). Then last night he woke up screaming and hollering. When I went into his room to see what the matter was he was sitting up in his bed shaking and told me that Cookie Monster spanked him. Poor kid - he was terrified. I tried to reassure him that Cookie Monster doesn't hit and that he is really nice. To make a long story short, after multiple failed attempts of getting him back to sleep I finally gave in and let him sleep on the floor of our bedroom. UGH! Now I feel like we've taken another step back and we need to keep going forward because the amount of days until "Billy Joe" arrives keeps getting less and less.
